![]() ![]() ![]() I can carry my logbook around with me on my phone. I can run it on anything from PC to mac to android to iphone online and offline. I realized that I was able to future proof it to a large degree - I can convert It to any other logbook format I choose, I can print it, I can even take it back to excel if I choose. I gave over to the modern age of just how incredibly powerful the manipulation of data at my fingertips was possible.Įg keeping track of currency etc is a piece of cake. Giving them the format they wanted was getting harder and harder. It was getting too complicated banging out summaries containing all the bells and whistles they wanted especially when there were last minute changes. With changing times (and changing CAA) I have changed my tune for the following reasons: the older Comair guys have probably the best version of this basic excel logbook. I used to have the same philosophy and ran something along similar lines for 8 yrs ie just less than 5000hrs worth. It also means it will still be compatible with everything when I'm still flying at age 120. That means it runs on anything and can be shared using something like Dropbox on any device.
